While I tried to add Traditional Chinese subtitles to the following two videos, I noticed that after pressing the PUBLISH button on Amara’s website, nothing happened. In fact even the English subtitles which my translation was based on (thanks for sangha for the work) did not appear on Youtube (the English subtitles available there were generated by AI). Seems that something has to be fixed on Amara’s side. Just alert everyone here of the issue. I will write to Amara separately.
The 2nd one is Living Joyfully (cannot post the 2nd link here as I am a new user)
Thank you dear Johnson @dropinfo for your sharing and action . All the subtitles in different languages for the video you shared and “Living Joyfully” failed to show up on YouTube indeed. I hope you didn’t lose all the subtitles that you already finished!
I have written to Amara.org (pls see their reply as forwarded below) and they explained how Amara’s subtitles can be synced to the Plum Village app channel on YouTube. Seems that the auto sync from any Amara (free) accounts has been disabled as they did not mention there’s any tech problems on their part. Do you think any brothers/sisters managing the channel can give it a check? Thanks.
Yours sincerely,
Johnson

Hello Johnson,
Thank you for sharing the link to the video you are asking about on YouTube.
The video was added by the Amara Username Living Dharma.
The video needs to be added to an Amara username that is synced with the host YouTube channel to allow completed subtitles to automatically publish to YouTube.
It is not synced with the YouTube channel where the video is hosted on Plum Village app.
Any video that is synced with the host YouTube channel will show Synced in the URL listing on the video page.
You can reach out to the contact on the YouTube channel to ask the owner if they have an Amara account they can sync to their YT channel.
If this is possible we can help move the videos from the Plum Village app over to their Amara username to allow automatic publishing.
If they do not have an Amara account or prefer not to sync to one you can download the completed subtitles and share them with the owner on YouTube to manually upload them.
You can also share the link to the video on Amara so people can watch the video with subtitles on Amara instead of YouTube.
I hope this helps,
Rieann
Thank you very much for your information it’s all very helpful. We are following up this situation with Amara now. There should be nothing for you to worry about from this point.
Thank you very much again
May today unfold with much peace and kindness for you.
Bowing in gratitude,
