Portuguese Subtitles not flowing to App

Hi everyone!

I just noticed the videos that I’m uploading in the PV app are not showing with portuguese subtitles, despite having on Vimeo.

I don’t know the extent of the issue, so can you kindly take a look?

Hmm, those links don’t work for me unfortunately. However, I’ve noticed in the past that subtitles usually appear instantly on YouTube after being added but there’s often a delay for them to be added to the app. I’d assumed it might be the case they have to be added manually or have some manual moderation done but I don’t know for sure

Like @Tom_Pughe , I couldn’t access these vimeo links either.

Many of Tom’s observations were true of what I’ve experienced too so far. Such as,

Yeah, either one of these was sometimes the case.

So I guess we’ll all need to wait for @Justin_Emery or someone from the dev team to have a look before responding to us :smiling_face:

if you see in Vimeo, they have Portuguese subtitles but not in the app :slight_smile:

Thank you @Carolina_Marinho it was helpful to have the video names.

We had an issue this week with syncing the subtitles to the service provider we use to serve the videos. Now it is fixed so you should see the subtitles in the app for the two videos you mentioned.

In total today there were 39 new subtitle tracks synced so it seems to have helped for some other videos too :slightly_smiling_face:

You may already be aware. Just letting you know that, it seems we’re experiencing the same issue. Just uploaded "‘Darling, I am there for you’ | Teaching by Thich Nhat Hanh” to the Portuguese section and the pt subs are not coming up.

Thank you @Mario_Pinto I looked into it and found due to a configuration issue it was taking too long for the new subtitles to make it into the app. Now I made some changes and it should be quicker in future - not instant, but basically it should show up by the following day.

The Portuguese subtitles are showing up now in both the mobile app and web edition of the app: Querido, eu estou aqui para ti | Ensinamento de Thich Nhat Hanh - Plum Village
